Encaustic....

Hi everyone! Hope you've had a good weekend.
Just thought I'd pop on & show you what I've been doing today.
I have a new toy - an Antex Foilmaster which also came with tips & waxes for Encaustic art, so I just had to have a play.
I like that it is a small iron, so better for smaller projects. I can see me using this for ATC's.
Hope you like them.
Thanks for stopping by.

Guest DT Post for Daring Cardmakers

Hi everyone! It's the end of February already - can you believe it!! Time for my last guest DT post for Daring Cardmakers - that month went by so fast!
The theme this week was to use a resist technique. I decided to use paint resist.
I found a suitable stamp - a lovely butterfly image. I put some white acrylic paint onto my glass mat, tapped some craft foam into the paint then applied the paint onto my stamp. Carefully stamped the image onto some white card. While this was drying I washed my stamp - have to do this otherwise the acrylic paint sticks into all the nooks & crannies on the stamp then it will not stamp properly. You can dry the paint image on the card with a heat gun but it doesn't take that long really.
Next comes the inking - I chose a blue & burgundy ink & applied these all over the card & image. I then wiped over the image with a dry baby wipe & just a drop of water this brings it back to white - like magic!
I went over the background inks with a waterbrush to give a little detail, also putting drops of water onto the inks & drying with a paper towel to give the spots.
Stamped around the edges with a swirly stamp & burgundy ink.
Matted onto black, then white card adding some of the swirly stamp around the edges of the white card.
Die cut a tag & stamped the sentiment onto it. Attached this to the corner of the card.
I have enjoyed my time as guest DT for Daring Cardmakers - hope you have enjoyed seeing my projects. Pop over to the blog & see the other DT's lovely makes.

Baby, It's Cold Outside ATC

Hi everyone! Hope you have all had a good weekend - it has been a very wet and windy one here. Football on TV, rubbish weather - a good time to craft I think!
The theme over on Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge Blog is Baby, It's Cold Outside.
I decided to try & make a window/door frame looking as if it was opening to the outside.
I inked my white ATC with blue distress ink & stamped some swirly snowflakes around. Stamped the snowman onto white card, coloured in & cut out.
Now for the frame. I cut out another ATC & cut out 3 openings on each half, trying to keep them equal & making sure to leave enough for the 'hinge'.
Once cut out I inked with distress ink, folded the hinges over & adhered to the snowy ATC.
Once the 'door' was in place I could place my snowman. Added a little Stickles glitter onto the swirly snowflakes.
I am quite pleased with how it has turned out - hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bev xx

Guest DT post for Daring Cardmakers

Hi everyone!
It's time for another challenge over at Daring Cardmakers - so here is my make for this week. The theme is geometric patterns.
I went with squares. I die cut 3 sizes of square from black, patterned & white card. I embossed the black card with an embossing folder.
Die cut 3 flowers from some co-ordinating paper, the sentiment from the same patterned paper then some black for a shadow.
I arranged the squares onto some white card, then matted this onto black card.
Die cut the corners from white card & adhered these onto the corners of the white card.
Pop over to Daring Cardmakers blog & have a look at the other DT's lovely makes.

Guest DT post for Daring Cardmakers

.
Hi everyone! Here's my 2nd guest DT make for Daring Cardmakers. The theme this week is Animal.
I used an image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps called Ewe Rock.
When I was looking at this image I wondered if I could try something different, so I decided to see if needle-felting some roving would work.
Once I had printed the image I traced the area that was 'woolly'. I picked some colours from my wool & set to work to see if I could get the shape. It worked - the guitarist has a woolly jumper!
After roughly making the shape I attached it onto the image & went around the edges to get more of the shape. I did the same for the 'hair'.
Here's a close-up of the felting.

I coloured the rest of the image. Added some glossy accents to the glasses, some gold glitter glue for the stars.
The background was done using two colours of Liquid Pearls dabbed on with kitchen roll.
Matted onto some brown spotty backing, then onto some black card.
Added the 'Ewe Rock' sentiment.
Hope you like my different card.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xx

Alpha/Dictionary Challenge - F

Hi everyone - I have decided to enter the Alpha/Dictionary Challenge over at The Craft Barn. The letter is F but with a twist to use a heart.
I picked the word face.
I inked through my new stencil with various distress inks. Stamped the image using burgundy ink & coloured with my pencils. Cut out the dictionary definition of face & inked around with more distress inks.
Arranged the elements onto my inked background, then die cut the heart shape. Die cut a larger heart from some black card, embossed & sanded to show the embossing off a little better.
Hope you like it.

DT post for Crafty Calendar

Hi - time for a new challenge over at Crafty Calendar. The theme this month is 'It's A Love Thing'.
We are being sponsored this month by Robyn's Fetish & Bugaboo Digi Stamps.
The first image above is Hog Wild Over You from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More.
I printed & resized the image. Coloured in then matted onto some black card. Matted this onto the spotty paper then onto some more black card.
Made the flower, leaves & flourishes from a die cut, made a tag & added the word love. A bit of bling in the middle of the flower & on the tag.
The second image is Valentine Jar from Bugaboo Digital Stamps.
I resized & printed out the image onto white card.
Cut around the images inside the jar. Coloured in using Inka Gold in various colours, then went around the images with a back Wink of Stella pen to add a bit of sparkle.
Inked over the card using pink Pan Pastel & edged using pink Inka Gold.

Guest DT post for Daring Cardmakers

Hi everyone! I am a guest DT member over on Daring Cardmakers for February - exciting!
Pop on over and have a go at this weeks challenge.
We had to use three elements from a photo - I chose animal print, heart & text.
I embossed the large heart onto white card.
I had some great tapes (from my local poundshop!). I alternated them onto some white card, making sure it was big enough for my heart die.
I matted the white card onto some pink & put holes around the edges, matted this onto some black card.
For the letters I die cut the small squares from white card then die cut the letters from the middle.
Die cut some more squares, added tape to them & placed behind the letters.
Hope you like it - don't forget to pop over to Daring Cardmakers & check out the other DT's lovely makes & share your work.
Thanks for stopping by - don't forget my giveaway pinned to the top of the page, closes 14th Feb.

Creative Artiste DT Post challenge #11 anything goes

Front
Hi everyone! It's time for another challenge over on Creative Artiste Challenge blog - challenge #11 anyhting goes (mixed media).
I decided to make an ATC holder to store all my swapped ATC's in. There is a great tut over on You Tube here.
I covered it using some lovely freebie papers, inked around the edges.
The flowers and leaves were die cut from card I had coloured with Inka Gold - I added water & painted the card. This gave the elements a lovely metal look.
Then I added various decorations front & back.
This is a great project for using up all your bits.
Head on over to the blog & see the other DT's lovely makes & enter the challenge!
Here are the side & back views.

February in a Frame

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd pop by and show you this that I have made. I already have a calendar but fancied some art showing the month - hopefully I'm going to do this for every month, watch this space!
I found the lovely design on my Silhouette Portrait. I just cut the elements from different designs of paper, put them all together & popped the result into a pretty frame. It looks really good on my wall.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xx
