December Calendar Art

Hi - another post! Just sharing my December Calendar Art with you.
Made using my Silhouette Portrait with a design from the design studio.

DT post for Crafty Calendar -

Hi everyone! Well it's that time of year again - already - I can't believe where this year has gone!
The theme over at Crafty Calendar this month is:
Christmas Time

and we are sponsored by:

I have used the digi image 'Three Christmas Sweaters' - love it!
I printed it to the size I wanted & coloured using DI.
I found a window die that I wanted to use on my Silhouette Portrait & resized & just cut out the image I wanted. The same with the tree with the 'pawbles' on it.
I backed the 'window' with some backing paper, then stamped the image onto it. Placed some gold mirri board behind the tree.
Cut out a nice tartan cushion for the dogs to sit on.
Arranged everything as I wanted it, using foam pads on the dogs.
Pop over to the Crafty Calendar blog to check out the other DT makes. Hope you can join in this month.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xx

DT Post for Creative Artiste #21 December Challenge

Hi - time for another challenge over at

The theme is : Anything Mixed Media Goes.

Our sponsor is:

Well it is December - so I am sharing a Christmas canvas with you.
I drew the tree onto the back of the canvas & carefully cut out with a craft knife.
Then I took a piece of A4 card & embossed the top half using a dotty embossing folder. For the snowy bottom I used strips of masking tape, overlapping so that it doesn't stick to itself then I could roll the edges to give a bit of texture. I painted the tape with white acrylic paint & when dry added some sparkle with stickles glue. Stuck this to the back of the canvas - leaving a space bottom right to put the battery pack of the lights. Poked a small hole to thread the lights through.
Die cut snowflakes, reindeer, poinsettias, holly & pine sprigs from card.
I arranged everything onto the canvas, adding some red gems for holly berries, blue gems in the middle of the snowflakes & loads of stickles glitter all over for a snowy, frosty feel.
Turned on my lights & arranged where I wanted them - love how it has turned out. Will be finding a place for it among my Christmas decorating!
I hope you can drop over to the Creative Artiste blog & check out the other DT members makes & hope they inspire you to make something & enter the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.
Merry Christmas!!

Inchie Swap

Hi everyone!
I am sharing some inchies I have made for a swap. We had to make 9 Christmas themed inchies. I managed to find stamps & dies to fit onto the inchies. Used DI to colour, The letters were die cut from red & green card. Edged each inchie with Inka Gold.
I had a small tin that some mints came in - the inchies fitted into it just right. I wondered if I could do anything with it as it looked like this :

I decided to give it a go! I gave it 2 coats of white gesso, making sure to let them dry inbetween coats. I then started covering with my favourite Inka Gold! I started with gold, then copper & green. Polishing each layer. I then stamped Merry Christmas onto the lid with Stazon.
Here's the result :

I'm really pleased with it.
I wrapped the inchies in some green tissue & placed them in the tin. I hope my swap partner likes them.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bev xx

DT post for Creative Artiste #20 November Challenge

Hi everyone! Time for a new challenge over at Creative Artiste.

We are sponsored this month by:

The challenge is anything goes and we would love to see your mixed media makes.
For this canvas i started by covering a canvas with bronze coloured Aztec Paint.
I then cut out a heart from black card & embossed with the hearts.
I went over this with silver Inka Gold - love this on the black card as it gives it an aged look. Went over a few of the embossed hearts with bronze Inka Gold.
I placed the heart onto the canvas & went around the edges with clear hot glue to attach it to the canvas.
I then used some gold hot glitter glue to 'scribble' around the edges. Went around the edges of the canvas with red hot glitter glue and around the inside edge of the heart.
Used the remaining glue in butterfly & heart moulds.
Once all the glue had cooled I went over with the silver Inka Gold.
Attached the heart & butterflies.
Hope you can join the challenge - pop over to the blog & see all the other DT's lovely makes.

Thanks for stopping by.

Postcard Art

Hi everyone! Just thought I would pop on & share this postcard I had made for a swap - I can share it now as it has been received. There was a bit of a wobble when we thought they had gone astray in the post, but it turns out her hubby had put them in a safe place & forgot to tell her about them - bad hubby - LOL!
I love the Stampendous Hallowe'en stamp. I stamped onto the white card using black Archival then coloured the image with DI & some Aztec paints. Went over the Hallowe'en with foil. Added some other images from a Crafty Individuals stamp - the barbed wire & the flying bird.. I then inked around the edges with DI & added some water drops.
The images on the other side are all Crafty Individual stamps. I stamped the church & bird image onto the top of the card & coloured using DI. The bottles were stamped onto some other white card, coloured in, cut out & embossed with clear embossing powder. The labels were also stamped onto other card, coloured & cut out. I inked around the postcard with DI, added the water splashes & arranged everything onto the card.
Hope you like them - my swap partner does.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bev xx

DT post for Crafty Calendar - October Challenge - Hallowe'en

Hi everyone - time for another challenge over at Crafty Calendar! It just has to be Hallowe'en!

Our sponsor this month is:

Here is a little bit about them:

Hi I am Wendy Burns I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children who have been the inspiration behind the characters,  in particular my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with blogging and trends.  I work predominantly within the textile children’s wear market, fashion and interiors.

I trained as a textile designer and although my work is digital based, I
love to retain that hand drawn /sewn feel which I hope comes across in my artwork.

Digital stamps is a new challenge for me and the opportunity to work with the All Dressed Up Team and has been very exciting, in particular the creative way my characters have been given individual personalities by the designers .

All Dressed Up is a newly launched blog with an enthusiastic team who are passionate about stamping.  The coordinators Anne Lise and Bettina along with an amazing design team are also known as The Dressy Girls.

We have a friendly Facebook page, regular blog posts, tutorials, challenges and freebies .The stamps can be purchased from the Etsy shop which is updated on a monthly basis.

We really are friendly bunch and would love to see your creations so please feel free to contact us and visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog.

There is a choice of 2 digi's to the winner.

The DT were luck enough to be given images from All Dressed Up. I chose the cute kitty in the pumpkin.
I embossed some black card using an embossing folder, then lightly went over the embossing with some Inka Gold.
Printed out the image & sentiment, coloured in & cut out.
Die cut the cobweb from white card.
Matted the black card onto some orange card & arranged everything onto the card.

Pop over to the blog & see the other DT members makes. Hope you can join in the challenge this month.

Thanks for stopping by.

Gothic Tag

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. It has been a bit wet here overnight, but as I type this the sun is managing to shine through - quite a bit cooler though.
I decided to have a go at making something a bit Gothic today.
The image is a Crafty Individuals stamp. I coloured using DI and a bit of Brusho for the wings.
I picked out a tag & inked with DI, then stamped the barbed wire, bird & crackle  with black Archival.
Stamped the saying onto whit card & inked with DI.
Arranged everything onto the tag.
Hope you like it - I think it looks quite spooky!

DT post for Crafty Calendar - Back to School

Hi everyone! Here's this month's challenge for Crafty Calendar - Back to School.
Our sponsors this month are

The DT had some lovely images to work with - I chose Bookworm.
I printed the image a couple of times, coloured using watercolour paints, cut ou the whole image of one & the pile of books from the other.
I found the dictionary parts I wanted & edged then with a little DI then placed them onto my backing paper.
The 'blackboard' is made from a blackboard sticker which I stuck onto white card the cut around leaving a small border. I made the easel from some white card & coloured it with DI.
Placed the bookworm onto the card, then placed the blackboard & pile of books using foam tape for a bit of dimension.
Pop over to the Crafty Calendar Blog & take a look at the other makes by the DT. The challenge runs all month so you have plenty of time to get your projects in! Hope to see you there.

DT post for Creative Artiste - challenge #18

Hi everyone! It's September - can you believe it? I just don't know where this year has gone.
It's time for a new challenge over on Creative Artiste.
The sponsor this month is:

The theme is anything mixed media goes.
I had some cardboard packaging that I had been holding onto for ages, so I decided to use it for this project.
There were 2 pieces - a flat piece & a frame shape.
I covered both with white gesso. Once the gesso had dried I taped a stencil onto the flat piece, I went over this with Versa Mark ink, carefully removed the stencil & sprinkled white embossing powder then heated with my heat gun.
I 'painted' over this with water then sprinkled with various colours of Brusho, left for a while for the 'magic' to work then used my brush to move the colour around. I left this to dry.
I wanted the frame to have some texture so I decided to use the tissue & Brusho technique.
I sprinkled Brushos onto the tissue, then spritzed with water. Dabbed various parts with kitchen roll. I had to leave this to fully dry.
I picked out the Scrapmatts board pieces I wanted to use, covered the circle with gold Inka Gold and the words with blue Inka Gold. I placed some pearls on the circle where there were small board circles.
Found a rocket stamp & stamped this onto silver paper with black Stazon & cut out.
My piece with the embossing had now dried. I wiped over the embossing to remove the paint.
Stamped & embossed the sentiment. Stamped & embossed the small stars. Used some gold texture paste through a star stencil. Left this to dry.
Back to the frame. The tissue had dried so I screwed it up to get the texture. Covered the frame with Mod Podge & placed the tissue onto the frame, making more creases as I went along. Covered it all with Mod Podge once it was all covered, then dried with heat gun. Lightly applied gold Inka Gold to highlight the texture.
Placed the frame onto the flat piece & arranged the elements.
Hop over to Creative Artiste & see the other DT projects, join in the challenge, you have a month to enter your projects & we would love to see them.

We are having a DT call this month for crafters who love their mixed media. Details of requirements and how to apply can be found over on the blog.

Cupcake tag

Hi everyone! Well we have had a bit of all kinds of weather here today. Are you all enjoying the Olympics? Love seeing all the different sports.
Just thought I would share this tag with you that I have made for a challenge.
The 'sprinkles' embossing folder & cupcake dies & stamps were freebies from a magazine! Love a freebie me!
I embossed some white card & gently inked over with DI, covered a tag with this. Die cut the cupcake & assembled. Stamped the cake stand - this is onto silver card but doesn't show up very well on the pic. Stamped the sentiment then die cut & inked.
Placed everything onto the tag. Added some stickles to the cupcake.
Funnily enough I feel a bit peckish now!
Thanks for stopping by.

Canvas

Hi everyone - Summer's back today!
I've been at it with the Brushos again. I have these great small canvasses - I like them as they are not as daunting to start on as the larger ones.
The first thing I did was cut a piece of white tissue paper large enough to cover the canvas, then I sprinkled various colours of the Brusho Paints & spritzed really well with water. I left this to dry over night.
Once this was dry I crumpled the tissue up & opened up. Applied Mod Podge to the canvas & applied the tissue to the canvas adding a few more creases & crumples as I went. This was left to fully dry.
I went over the canvas with Inka Gold to highlight the creases.
I decided I wanted an image so I stamped the large image onto tissue paper using distress inks, tore carefully around the image, applied Mod Podge to the canvas & carefully applied my tissue image, being careful not to smudge the distress inks.
While this was drying I stamped various images around the rest of the canvas - I used black Archival for this but stamped off the canvas first to give a shadow image. I coloured these images with DI.
Added a bit more of the Inka Gold, some lace to the top & an embellishment with a button.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.

Bev xx

Dt Post for Creative Artiste Blog - Anything Goes.

It's a new month so a new challenge over at Creative Artiste. The theme this month is anything goes.
Our sponsor this month is:

The sponsor kindly sent the DT some stencils to work with. Mine were Build Me A Rose and Art Splatters stencils.
I had a lovely frame from a poundshop, it was ok but plain, so I thought these stencils would make it a little more interesting.
I decided to use my Inka Gold waxes with the stencils, I must admit to being a little obsessed with Inka Gold at the moment, but I just love the effects you can achieve with it.
I placed the stem & leaf first & inked through with green IG, then placed the rose heads onto the stems & inked through again.
I did the same with the Art splatters stencil at the top of the frame.
I was cleaning my stencil with a baby wipe onto some kitchen roll & liked the effect, so decided to try doing the same onto some watercolour paper - it worked! I love the effect, so decided to make a picture to go in the frame.
I think it looks more than a £1 frame now - hope you like it.
Hope you can pop over to the blog & see the other DT's makes & maybe join in the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs,
Bev xx
