ammonites

The word for today over on One Word Wonder is age. I struggled a little with this as I didn't want to do a card with an age on, but for ages (!) couldn't think of what else to do. Then I remembered my Spellbinder M-Bossabilities folder sea beauty.
I used the side with what I think look like ammonites, was thinking age - fossils, embossed onto some core'dinations card. Gently sanded the image, then painted with some Creative Expressions gilding waxes using the solvent blending solution to make then wax thinner to paint with.
Decided to cover the front of a notebook with my make. Stamped some letters onto kraft card & adhered these to the notebook.
Think it turned out ok to say I was wondering what to do for the word age.
Thanks for stopping by. Bev x

silver

Here is my entry for today's One Word Wonder which is silver.
I embossed some teal coloured card using a peacock embossing folder, which was a freebie from a magazine. I highlighted the embossed image using some Versa Colour ink in silver, and then some Creative Expressions gilding wax in pearl moon.
I die cut the vintage frame & gift tag from Tonic using my Grand Calibur. The sentiment was  stamped using Versa Colour ink in silver. I inked around the edges with the silver ink.
I matted this onto some silver card.
I like this daily One Word Wonder as it makes me think & do something every day.

Stencil & stamp

My make for today's One Word Wonder - the word was floral.
I used a Peerless Designs brick wall stencil, which I inked through with frayed burlap Distress Ink. Stamped the poppy from Hunkydory's poppy meadow collection using crushed olive DI, then painted using barn door & bundled sage DI.
Stamped the meadow image from IndigoBlue across the bottom in crushed olive.
The dandelion seeds, butterfly & sentiment are stamps from Creative Expressions British wildflowers, designed by Sam Poole.
Matted onto green card.
Thanks for stopping by x.

made top 3 !

My decoration was picked for top 3 over on Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge!

todays make

Hello fellow bloggers! The weather is no better today - more like autumn/winter than spring. Hubby back at work today so once had done my few jobs settled down to do some crafting - lovely!
Today's word over on One Word Wonder is kids.
I stamped the image, from Jayne Nestorenko's Apple of my Eye Collection, onto white card. Made a mask & stamped the flowers, making it look as if the flowers are in front of the children.
Coloured the image with watercolours.
Found a die that framed the image, cut it out & distressed the edges with frayed burlap Distress Ink. Matted this onto yellow, green & red card. Stamped the sentiment, which is from the same stamp set, onto white card. Cut this out using another die, distressed the edges using barn door Distress Ink. Die cut a couple of flourishes with a Memory Box die which has the name of Donnington Tendril.
Adhered the flourishes & sentiment using a foam pad.
Hope you've had a good day, whatever you're doing. Thanks for stopping by.

todays blue make

The word for today over on One Word Wonder Facebook page is blue.
I stamped the flower part of the Woodware image onto some pale blue backing paper using black Archival ink, the stem onto some green paper. I cut these out. Painted some shading onto the flower, and painted the stems that were in the flower head image.
I cut out a shape in brown card using Spellbinders labels 25.
Matted and layered onto mid blue, brown & light blue card, using my Perfect Layers ruler.
Die cut some flowers, coloured some pearls yellow with a ProMarker pen for the centres. Made a blue bow to finish off.

Autumn One Word Wonder entry

Hi everyone - not quite as much rain today & a tad warmer here.
This is my entry for the Daily One Word  Wonder over on Facebook. As my Christmas decoration won yesterday (WHOOP!) I had to pick the word for today, I picked autumn, either the theme or the colours.
I stamped the Crafty Individuals image using frayed burlap, decided to use it as is & not cut up the 3 images. I drew around the stamped image onto some white card so I knew where to stamp the leaves. These were from Wise Friends stamps designed by Sam Poole. I stamped these using Distress Inks - barn door, frayed burlap & olive green.
I cut around the leaves - I wouldn't have attempted this before getting my Tonic glass cutting mat!
I matted the image onto some brown card, then placed this onto the leaves. Then matted onto orange, red & brown card.
Stamped the sentiment onto white card using frayed burlap & edged using the same, adhered to one corner of the card.
Hope you like my autumn make - pity the weather seems like autumn. Thanks for stopping by.

Final DT piece for JB crafting Supplies using IndigoBlu stamp

For my last DT piece using the IndigoBlu Elizabeth Bennet stamp for JB Crafting Supplies I decorated a candle.
I stamped the image onto tissue paper using Archival ink, coloured the flowers using Cosmic Shimmer watercolours - I like the metallic look of these watercolours. I hope you can see the shimmer on the enlarged photo of the flowers.
Transferred the image to the candle by placing the tissue paper onto the candle - making sure there were no crinkles. Wrapped some greaseproof paper around the candle, making sure the tissue paper was still crinkle free, holding the greaseproof paper tightly around the candle. Using a heat tool gradually heat the image, being careful not to heat too much.
I then made a milk carton box using card, then covered with the lovely Graphic 45 card. Punched a hole in the top, then tied together with some green ribbon.
I have really enjoyed using this stamp, and the card for these projects.

another Christmas make

Hi everyone - well typical bank holiday weather here so crafting here I come! Hope you enjoy your long weekend whatever you're doing.
The word for today over on One Word Wonder Facebook page is Christmas. Well I've been making cards for my DT over on Christmas Fun so decided to make an ornament.
I had some Indigoblu MDF Christmas bauble shapes so picked one of those.
I covered the shape with white gesso which I dried with my heat tool as I'm too impatient! I then gave it a coat of DecoArt Americana acrylic paint in burnt umber, dried again then applied a thin coat of DecoArt Americana weathered wood crackle medium. Once this had dried applied a final coat of DecoArt Americana acrylic in snow white, dried with heat gun & watched it crackle!
I stamped the sentiment ( a freebie Kaisercraft clear stamp from Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine) using barn door Distress Ink & distressed the edges with this too. Used a little Rub'n'Buff in gold leaf around the edges & across the crackled area.
I found some Hobbycraft shapes & a gold bow in my stash. Finished off with a gold ribbon for hanging.
Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,
Bev xx

Butterfly

Here is a tag I made to enter the One Word Wonder over on Mad Crafters Giggles on Facebook.
The word today was butterfly - the winner picks the next word.
I tried to use a crackle technique on the tag but it didn't work very well.
I painted the tag with some metallic purple acrylic paint, applied the crackle medium, then applied a coat of silver acrylic paint. It did crackle a little but not how I wanted.
I went around the edge of the tag with some frayed burlap distress ink.
I stamped the image from, which was part of an A4 sheet from Chocolate Baroque - Punky Romance, onto some tissue paper using black archival ink, applied onto the tag.
Went around the edge with some gold leaf Rub 'N' Buff, then stamped the stitching around the edges of the tag.
Finally coloured in the butterflies using Cosmic Shimmer watercolours.

Another card for Christmas Fun Blog

The theme this month over on Christmas Fun blog  is all that glitters.
For this card I stamped an angel using a Pink Gems stamp with black Stazon 4 times, onto plain, patterned for the gown , gold mirri board for the wings & red for the heart. I paper pieced these together, glittered the red heart & the hearts around the bottom of the angel's gown & the shoes with red glitter. Mounted the angel onto some vellum with a musical theme, mounted this onto some red card. Stamped a holly border around the card, coloured in using watercolours, put some red glitter on the berries. Stuck the angel to the centre of the card. Stamped 3 lots of holly, cut out & mounted these into 3 corners, put some red glitter on the berries. Stamped the sentiment, mounted this onto some red card & stuck into remaining corner.
Head on over to the Christmas Fun blog for some inspiration & enter our challenge. All entries will be entered into a random prize draw. Remember it's cards only.

2nd DT post for JB crafting Supplies using Indigoblu stamp

What a weekend here nothing but rain & cold - brrr!
I found a poundshop notebook - covered the front with black card, cut a piece of Graphic 45 paper - Olde Curiosity Shoppe Collection - slightly smaller.
Stamped the image onto white card using rusty hinge distress ink. I coloured around the edge of the image with burnt sienna PanPastel.
Measured some brown coredinations card to frame the image, cut out an aperture using my Grand Calibur.
Adhered the image to the frame. Found some brads in my stash for the corners. Adhered the frame & image to the cover using foam pads.
Found a heart in my stash which I think looks ok.
Coloured a strip of white card using the burnt sienna PanPastels, stamped the word notebook using rusty hinge DI. Cut the letters out & adhered down the side. Popped a few white pearls in the centre of some of the flowers.
I like how it has turned out - was going to give as a present but might keep it! Can always do another!
Hope everyone has a good week - whatever you are doing.

DT piece for Christmas Fun Blog

Time for another challenge over on Christmas Fun Challenge Blog. It is always anything goes but this month the twist is all that glitters.
I made a stepper card from white card. Used some freebie green & red patterned backing papers to cover the panels.
I die cut the bauble & tree from some white glitter card using Marianne bauble & Christmas tree dies. Die cut the large bell from white glitter card using a Tattered Lace die. I stuck the die cuts to some gold mirri board & cut out. I Decided to use the red backing paper behind the bow of the bell.
On the large centre panel I put some double sided tape around the edges to form a frame & covered this in red glitter.
I die cut some more white glitter card using a Spellbinder edgeability die.
Die cut the sentiment from gold mirri board using a Tattered Lace sentiment die.
I placed the bell onto the large centre panel using foam pads for a bit of dimension. Placed the bauble & tree onto the smaller panels.
Placed the edge die cuts onto the red panel then placed the sentiment.
The challenge runs all month, with mid month inspiration from the DT. Please pop along, take a peek at the DT's & entrants cards & give it a go. There is a blog candy draw for all entrants, but don't forget it must be a card.
