DT piece

This week Julie from JB Craft Supplies asked us to combine the Easter image from Adele Bradshaw at Jiggery Makery (take a peek at her Facebook page here) with the stamps from last months makes.
I was already to print out my image when I discovered I had no ink! Thought I had a spare but obviously the one in the printer was my spare - oops!
Thinking cap on - I stamped out the images from the Stampendous stamps - Steampunk shoes, took a photo of them & imported the images into Craft Artist.I took them into the cutout studio so I could just have the image. I liked how the stamped images turned out.
Imported the Easter image into paint, removed the basket and coloured. Then imported this into Craft Artist. Into the cutout studio, then added the sticker mode to give the image a white outline, which I think suits the pin up image.
I then started to play about with the images, arranging them on the layout. When I had the look I wanted I put a small  border around the whole image. Think this would make a good poster.
Not quite an Easter image though!
Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by,
Bev x

Happy Easter! DT sample for JB Crafting Supplies

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Easter break. The weather here is dull & cold but we are cosy inside enjoying lazing about and maybe even eating the odd choccie or two!
This is my third DT piece for using Adele Bradshaw's image for JB Crafting Supplies.
I made this basket using Craft Artist ( my favourite!). The image & sentiment provided by Adele Bradshaw at Jiggery Makery  - have a peek at her Facebook page.
I took the image & sentiment into paint to colour them, then imported them into Craft Artist. Here I found a template for a basket - result!
I picked a background, then resized the image & sentiment to fit onto the panels of the basket. I made the image & sentiment into stickers - this puts a white border around the image, which I like. I added a dropped shadow to the image & sentiment as this makes them stand out from the background.
I printed the result out & made up the basket, found some twine to make the handles & some chocolate eggs & bunnies to fill it up.
I know it isn't an image for children but I know someone who wouldn't mind receiving this basket.
Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by.

Mid month inspiration DT post for Christmas Fun Blog

Here is my mid month inspiration DT post for Christmas Fun Blog. The theme this month is card for a man or anything goes.

For the blue card I found some items in my stash that were freebies from various magazines so decided to use them.
The backing paper, topper & sentiment were a freebie pack from Cardmaking & Papercrafts magazine by designer Jennifer Ellory.
I matted the backing paper onto some white card & edged with blue ink.
I die cut the tree from some white glitter card using a freebie die (can't remember which magazine it came from). I then cut some snowflakes from the same glitter card using Tattered Lace dies.
I matted the topper & sentiment onto white card & adhered these to the card using foam pads to give a bit of dimension.
I finished off by making a bow from blue ribbon.

For the square card I decided to use things that I won on Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge. I received a box of crafty stuff from Carley Duff.
I matted some gold mirri onto some red card.
Cut out the decoupage - this sheet is from Studio Light BV and is to make Christmas baubles but I just used one set for the card. I inked the edges with frayed burlap DI.
Used a Tonic die from the Christmas Cracker set to cut the holly from green card. This is a sentiment die with the holly at each end which I cut off.
Coloured some Creative Expressions white pearls with a poppy red ProMarker, stuck these onto the holly.
Used a Tattered Lace sentiment die to cut the sentiment from red card.

I like the idea that I am gradually getting some Christmas cards made - pop over to the Christmas Fun Blog and have a peek at the DT's & other entrants cards to get some inspiration and enter your own. It is a monthly challenge with a blog candy draw for all entrants.
Hope to see you soon!

getting in to sewing....

Last week I decided to go for a day of sewing at The Craft Den - thought I'd better as had received a lovely Singer Brilliance machine for Christmas from Keith!
The Craft Den is a lovely craft shop just around the corner from me and is owned by Lynne Hunter - her blog is here.
The company was great and Lynne was patient with me, helping me to make the quilted tote - pics at the top. I used materials from Tim Holtz's Eclectic Elements collection - they are LOVELY!
I didn't think I would but I managed to get the tote made, the only thing I needed to finish at home was to attach the handle, which I did & added some lovely decorative buttons, which I also bought at the shop.
I need to say a BIG thank you to Bob (Lynne's husband) for helping me park in their car park, having only passed my test last year (can't believe I have been driving just over a year! I love it!) I needed a bit of guidance which Bob gave & I was very grateful for.
Today I decided I would make a tea cosy as I had bought some material ages ago. I followed the tutorial by Debbie Shore on YouTube which you can find here. I think it turned out ok - Keith thought I'd bought it!
I definitely have the sewing bug!
Hope you like my makes, thanks for stopping by.

DT piece for Christmas Fun

A few changes again over on Christmas Fun Challenge Blog. It will now be a monthly challenge with a small blog candy, with mid monthly inspiration from the DT.
The theme for April is Christmas Card for a Man.
I ran a piece of white card through my GC with a cog Christmas tree mask (can't remember who made the mask :/ ). While the mask was still in place I inked through it using frayed burlap Distress Ink. Matted & layered onto green then red card.
Die cut the sentiment using Tonic's Christmas Cracker Die from the red card, which I then cut so I could place on each side of card.
Used some Ranger Sepia Accents in the centre of the cogs, added a red felt stag that was from Hobbycraft.
I think the cog tree is quite masculine and decided not to use much glitter so think the sepia accent adds just enough bling.
