Cupcake tag

Hi everyone! Well we have had a bit of all kinds of weather here today. Are you all enjoying the Olympics? Love seeing all the different sports.
Just thought I would share this tag with you that I have made for a challenge.
The 'sprinkles' embossing folder & cupcake dies & stamps were freebies from a magazine! Love a freebie me!
I embossed some white card & gently inked over with DI, covered a tag with this. Die cut the cupcake & assembled. Stamped the cake stand - this is onto silver card but doesn't show up very well on the pic. Stamped the sentiment then die cut & inked.
Placed everything onto the tag. Added some stickles to the cupcake.
Funnily enough I feel a bit peckish now!
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone - Summer's back today!
I've been at it with the Brushos again. I have these great small canvasses - I like them as they are not as daunting to start on as the larger ones.
The first thing I did was cut a piece of white tissue paper large enough to cover the canvas, then I sprinkled various colours of the Brusho Paints & spritzed really well with water. I left this to dry over night.
Once this was dry I crumpled the tissue up & opened up. Applied Mod Podge to the canvas & applied the tissue to the canvas adding a few more creases & crumples as I went. This was left to fully dry.
I went over the canvas with Inka Gold to highlight the creases.
I decided I wanted an image so I stamped the large image onto tissue paper using distress inks, tore carefully around the image, applied Mod Podge to the canvas & carefully applied my tissue image, being careful not to smudge the distress inks.
While this was drying I stamped various images around the rest of the canvas - I used black Archival for this but stamped off the canvas first to give a shadow image. I coloured these images with DI.
Added a bit more of the Inka Gold, some lace to the top & an embellishment with a button.
Hope you like it.

DT post for Crafty Calendar blog - Summer Fun

Hi everyone another month has gone and here we are in August! Can't believe it! Soon be Christmas - lol!
Time for another challenge over on Crafty Calendar the theme this month is Summer Fun.
We are sponsored this month by:

The sponsor very kindly sent our DT some digi images to work with - I chose Crab Boat.
I printed the image to the size I wanted, coloured in with watercolour pencils & cut out.
I had some beach themed freebie papers from a magazine & decided they were just what I needed for my little crab friend.
I layered them up to look like a beach scene then added my crab boat image.
Cut out some more elements and added them with foam pads for a bit of dimension.
Added some sparkle to the water with some Stickles and an 'I do like to be beside the seaside' banner.
Matted onto some white then aqua card.
Hope you have time to check out the other DT's makes over at Crafty Calendar & enter our challenge - would be great to see you.
Thanks for stopping by.

Dt Post for Creative Artiste Blog - Anything Goes.

It's a new month so a new challenge over at Creative Artiste. The theme this month is anything goes.
Our sponsor this month is:

The sponsor kindly sent the DT some stencils to work with. Mine were Build Me A Rose and Art Splatters stencils.
I had a lovely frame from a poundshop, it was ok but plain, so I thought these stencils would make it a little more interesting.
I decided to use my Inka Gold waxes with the stencils, I must admit to being a little obsessed with Inka Gold at the moment, but I just love the effects you can achieve with it.
I placed the stem & leaf first & inked through with green IG, then placed the rose heads onto the stems & inked through again.
I did the same with the Art splatters stencil at the top of the frame.
I was cleaning my stencil with a baby wipe onto some kitchen roll & liked the effect, so decided to try doing the same onto some watercolour paper - it worked! I love the effect, so decided to make a picture to go in the frame.
I think it looks more than a £1 frame now - hope you like it.
Hope you can pop over to the blog & see the other DT's makes & maybe join in the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Canvas

I'm back again! I think I'm a bit obsessed with the Brusho Paint strip technique - step away from the Brusho's!
I just wondered if the technique would work on a canvas - it did & I love it!
I covered the canvas with turquoise Brusho paint made pale by adding water.
I stamped the trees onto this using black Archival, then onto my Brushoed strip. I aligned the images up & adhered the paper strip to the canvas.
I let everything dry, added some pen lines to ground the trees. Went over the lower part of the canvas with white gesso, keeping it quite rough for a bit of texture. Added some stickles to this to give a bit of wintry sparkle.
I think this canvas will make a good addition to my Christmas decorations.

Poppy card

Hi everyone! The weather is a bit mixed here today - was raining earlier but there was a great rainbow, sun came out for a while but is now dull & windy - think I'll stay in and craft!
I thought I would share this card with you today.
The theme over on Outlawz for the Monday Greeting challenge was to use red, blue & green.
The background was done by placing blue & green ink onto a poppy stencil, then spritzing with water. Carefully moved the stencil, cleaned my work-space & replaced the stencil then placed & pressed some watercolour paper onto the stencil. This leaves the poppies white.
Once this was dry I coloured the poppies with DI.
I matted this piece onto blue then green card. Added some pale blue ribbon & placed my stamped sentiment onto this.
The poppy brooch was made from felt using dies. I enhanced the petals with some stitching, adding some beads. A brooch back was sewn on, then this was attached to the card with foam pads.
Hope you like it.

August Calendar Art

Hi everyone! Well it started off lovely here this morning but has spoiled itself by raining this afternoon, in fact it is quite miserable and cold at the time I am writing this - time to get crafty!
A new month so it is time to change my calendar art so I thought I would show you my calendar art for August.
The August design was done using my Silhouette Portrait with a design from the Silhouette Studio. This time I have used various stamps for the background.
Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Wonderland

Hi I'm here again!
I decided to try the Brusho strip technique with other stamps.
I painted a strip of white gesso across the centre of my Kraft Kard base. Once this had dried I stamped the two trees & the village scene with black Archival.
Tore a strip from the A4 Brusho background I had already done previously & stamped the images again across this strip.
I lined the images up & adhered the strip to the card.
Stamped the winter wonderland sentiment in black Archival.
Finally added some stickles sparkle into the sky strip.
I'm not quite sure if this has worked - what do you think?
Thanks for stopping by.

Rain Day

Hi everyone! Well I have made this card for a challenge over on Outlawz - rain day - and the sun is blasting down here today! I must have chased all the rain away with my card!
The background is done with Brusho paints - I'm a bit obsessed with these at the moment! I know it looks blue but I had used the black - when you sprinkle this onto the card & spritz it there are some fab colours, I 'smooshed' across this with a very wet brush, then dabbed with kitchen roll to hive a softer look. I die cut the shape I wanted for my card.
Stamped the umbrella onto white card & coloured using DI & cut out. Stamped the raindrops onto the background being careful where I wanted to place my umbrella.
I had some card that I had been colouring with Brusho stripes in rainbow colours. Stamped the sentiment onto this & die cut.
Arranged the image & sentiment onto my raindrop background. Added some sticles over the raindrops.
For the base card I had some watercolour papesr that I had been experimenting on with inks & stencils.
I found one that I thought complimented my image & matted my image layer onto it, then adhered this onto my card.
Hope you like it - I had fun making it.

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone! Well it's like autumn here today, but of the cold wet kind not the cold bright kind. I was just finishing this card off & I had to have the light on!
The inspiration for this came from watching Lesley Wharton from Chocolate Baroque on the Craft Channel. I have ordered the stamps she used but couldn't wait for them to arrive so had a look through my stamp stash and found these ones, so thought I would have a go. I hope she doesn't mind!
I filled an A4 sheet of card with Brusho powders & spritzed with water. Left this to dry or you can dry with a heat gun.
Cut a piece of Kraft card to the size I wanted & painted across the centre with white gesso.
Once this had dried I stamped the three trees onto this.
I tore a strip from the A4 sheet and stamped the trees over this piece.
I then lined the torn, stamped strip up with the stamped images on the card & adhered this in place.
I really didn't think it needed much more so just added the stamped winter wishes sentiment in the corner.
I loved doing this & I think it has turned out great - can't wait for my stamps to arrive!
Thanks for stopping by.

Shades of pink

Hi everyone! Well the sun has disappeared today & the rain clouds are back, think the heating might have to go on!
This card was made for the colour challenge over on Outlawz - the theme this week was to use shades of one colour. You can use other colours but the main colour shades have to be prominent.
The background is a small stamp stamped lots of times, then I have inked over this with abandoned coral & picked raspberry distress inks.
A smaller background was made from pink card, stamped with the same stamp using tattered rose DI.
Stamped the flamingo onto white card and coloured with the DI's & cut out.
Stamped the sentiment onto pink card, matted onto white & inked with pink around the edges.
Arranged everything onto the card - thought it needed a little something else so I stamped the flowers a couple of times onto white card & coloured in. Added these on foam pads fo a bit of dimension.
Added some glossy accent onto the flowers & the largest flower on the flamingo.
Added a few highlights of colour onto the background.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for stopping by.
